Plan the language use of the primary code of your article in the box

|
|
article genre
(purpose,
type)
|
This
article will be a how-to magazine that will consist of easy steps by step
instructions to a promised success. Which will have images of proved changes
due to the steps pointed out.
|
|
Narrative voice
(1st, 2nd or 3rd person) |
The
narrative voice for this magazine will be 1st and 2nd
person, I think this is appropriate so that the readers and understand and
relate better to what is being said.
|
|
Register
(informal/formal,
colloquial, dialect, taboo words?)
|
For
this article I will use both informal and formal language. This is because I
will be using colloquial language but I will write the article so that it
will inform the target audience about diets etc.
|
|
Stylistics
(repetition,
strong verbs, adjectives, alliteration, similes, metaphors, sentencing,
rhythm)
|
I
will use rhetorical questions on my article, which will entice the reader to
finish the article and take on some of the steps pointed out. The rhetorical
questions will be used as prompts so the target audience will want to follow
the steps.
|
|
Tone of address
(hectoring,
sarcastic, ‘matey’, ironic, etc)
|
The
tone of the address will be quite positive as it purpose is to make the
target audience feel that the steps are possible and that it is worth
attempting. Obviously people could take the steps quite serious but the
colloquial language may lesser the seriousness.
|
|
Structure and pace
(discourse
structure, logical paragraphing, connectives, conclusion)
|
The
structure of the article will be medium paced, due to having only 5 steps
there won’t be a large amount of text therefore this gives the readers time
to understand and think about the steps in depth. This therefore lets them
decide whether the steps are going to be assessable for them to complete.
There will be 5 paragraphs as there will be one to each step and this will
help the article look less text heavy which in affect will increase the
amount of readers. As stereotypically large amounts of text may put the
target audience off due to a shorter attention span.
