My Contingency Plans
My Top Ten Project
Killers
What could go wrong during production
How are you going to avoid this issue? What’s your
back up plan?
Models may not turn up to the photoshoot.
Always prepare for a back up model, remind/ring/text the
model previous days and including the day of the photoshoot.
Loss of props.
Have different ideas of images that could be used, so that
if props do go missing the photoshoot isnt wasted and effective photographs
are made.
Batteries of the camera run out during the shoot.
Ensure that there is another camera available and make
sure the camera is charged previous to the photoshoot.
Computers crashing after you have spent two hours
perfecting a particular piece of work.
I would regularly save my work in case Indesign or
Photoshop crashes and I could lose all my work. I could also save it to my
memory stick in case it gets deleted.
External shoots planned but bad weather causes you to
abandon the shoot.
To avoid this I could produce more than one idea for my
front cover, or different weather conditions that wouldn’t affect the image I
am trying to create.
Not enough time scheduled for difficult or complex shoots.
I will have to make sure I have thoroughly planned my
photo shoot and I know exactly how I want it with certain lightings and make
up. This would make it quicker for me to set up if I know what I want.
Running out of post-production time and not having
software at home.
To avoid this I could complete any work in my free periods
and after college hours and produce good planning.
Shoots booked but cameras not available or booked.
Before the time of my photo shoot I could go collect the
camera or check that there is one I am able to use.
Models turning up with different costumes and successive
shooting times.
To avoid this I could make the model aware what costume is
needed and remind them the night before or earlier that morning. To solve
this I could prepare the costumes myself.
Models not turning up in costume.
I could provide the equipment and clothing myself
therefore I would remember them without relying on anyone else.
